HOME PRACTICES: Medicinal herbs in dental care

Even Neanderthals used herbs when they had a toothache, as evidenced by the fossilized pieces of yarrow (Achillea millefolium) and chamomile (Matericaria Chamomilla) found among their dental remains. These and many other herbs can still be used today for toothaches and gingivitis by gargling with their decoction.
The most effective combination for this deconction is the following:
- chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla)
- peppermint (Mentha X piperita)
- marigold (Calendula officinalis)
- sage (Salvia officinalis)
- a cinnamon stick (Cinnamum)
- 6-10 pieces of cloves (whole) (Syzygium aromaticum)
Add the dried herbs in equal proportions to 1 liter of water, boil them over low heat for 5-10 minutes, cover and let cool, then gargle with it several times a day. The symptoms will soften.
